Red Star Women’s Ice Hockey Announce Hiring of Kristi Kehoe as Junior Team Head

Marlborough, MA (September 5, 2017)- Kunlun Red Star (KRS) Women’s Ice Hockey team is proud to announce that the hiring of Kristi Kehoe as Head Coach of the Junior Team program and Chinese National U18 Team.

Coach Kehoe joins the staff after a 4 year run as the Head Coach of New England College’s Women’s Ice Hockey Program. Prior to being the head coach, Coach Kehoe served as an assistant at SUNY Cortland. In addition to her Division III coaching experiences, Coach Kehoe has also worked numerous USA Hockey camps, and is the Director of Girls Player Development for the New England District with USA Hockey. Coach Kehoe played four years at Northeastern University, where she was an undisputed team leader.

“We are excited to have a coach like Coach Kehoe on our team.” Said Chief Head Coach Digit Murphy. “Her experience molding young players will be truly beneficial to the long-term develop of Chinese Ice Hockey and creating the next wave of players for the Chinese National Team.”

KRS is working in conjunction with Hockey China to create a successful long-term development plan for women’s ice hockey in China as the nation prepares to host the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Part of this plan includes the fielding of several Junior and Pro level teams under the direction of KRS Executive Vice President Mintwell Wang, Chief Coach Digit Murphy, and her staff.
